Today, Jan. 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., iconic pop artist Peter Max will be in residence at C. Parker Gallery.

Mr. Max is an internationally recognized artist whose intense bursts of color and psychedelic imagery have earned him multiple distinctions as the official artist of major public events such as the Super Bowl, the 2006 Olympics, and the Grammy Awards.

Other honors include a cover feature in Life Magazine and the title of designer of the first 10-cent postage stamp.

C. Parker Gallery will be hosting a reception and book signing, sponsored by the gallery’s principal, Tiffany Benincasa, and local Realtor Barbara Zaccagnini.  Mr. Max’s latest Marilyn Monroe series created with renowned photographer Milton Greene will also be showcased. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to purchase original works from the artist himself.

A percentage of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to Adopt-A-Dog, at the request of Mr. Max, a dedicated conservationist and protector of animals. The event is open to all, but RSVPs are requested at [email protected] C. Parker Gallery is located at 17 East Putnam Avenue.
