Volunteers to prepare tax returns

Tax season is upon us and the preparation of free income tax returns is being offered by volunteers at Greenwich Town Hall beginning Feb. 4 each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday through April 15.

These services are part of a national program of the AARP which, since 1968, has helped nearly 50 million taxpayers with low to moderate income with their tax returns. Volunteers are trained on IRS approved systems. Returns are electronically filed so taxpayers quickly receive any refunds they are due.

In excess of 300 returns are prepared annually by Greenwich volunteers as part of the national program that prepares several million returns each year.
