Greenwich police investigate home invasion

UPDATED WEDNESDAY 3:30 P.M. – Greenwich police are investigating what is being reported as a home invasion on East Elm Street on Tuesday where they believe the resident there was specifically targeted.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the private home at approximately 5:30 p.m. The report had come in from a woman who had come home and allegedly found that her mother had  been forcibly restrained by two men. The victim had reportedly been surprised by the men, who were described as white males wearing ski masks. The men reportedly had demanded money and then struck the victim in the face, causing her pain and minor injury. One of the men allegedly displayed a handgun and used it to threaten the victim.

The suspects are being described as white men between 20 and 30-years-old wearing dark clothing.

Police said the suspects fled the scene but bound the victim’s hands and feet first. In a followup on Wednesday, police said that the initial investigation had led them to be “fairly certain” that the victim had been targeted and that this was not a random act.
