Greenwich Academy swimming goes 2-0 against Loomis, Hotchkiss

The Greenwich Academy swimming and diving team had an enjoyable start to its weekend earlier today, as they posted victories against both Hotchkiss School and Loomis Chaffee School.

The Gators upended Hotchkiss 109-77 and had the same success against Loomis Chaffee, winning 107-79.

Throughout the event, Greenwich Academy finished with a plethora of top finishers. In the 200-yard medley relay, the foursome of Quinn Scannell, Borden Wahl, Hannah Goodrick and Hannah Subramaniam took gold with a time of 1:57.71.

The combo of Scannell, Subramaniam and Goodrick, along with Kitty Arenz, took top honors in the 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing with a time of 3:57.31.

Individually, the trio of Subramaniam, Scannell and Arenz had stellar performances, finishing with two wins apiece.

Arenz took home top honors in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.42 and during the longest event of the day, the 500-yard freestyle, Arenz struck gold again, touching the wall first with a time of 5:30.18.

Not to be outdone was Scannell, who finished first overall in the 100-yard freestyle, posting a time of 56.32 seconds. In another 100-yard event, the backstroke, Scannell had the same result, grabbing first overall with a time of 1:06.04.

Competing in the 200-yard individual medley, Subramaniam dominated the competition and came away with the top time of 2:22.15. Again, she found the top spot later in the meet, taking first place overall in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.03.

When it came to diving, no one was better the GA’s Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, as she was golden with 245.20 points.
