Stravinsky concert tonight

As part of its annual Summer Concert Program the Greenwich Arts Council will present the Greenwich Music Festival’s production of Stravinsky Pairings, featuring the compositions of 20th century master Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971) as well as works by some of his colleagues and predecessors.

The concert will explore the great diversity of Stravinsky’s musical output, with masterpieces from his Russian, Neo-classical and Surrealist periods, paired with works by Berg, Satie and Debussy. Performers will include Metropolitan Opera mezzo-soprano Eve Gigliotti, Greenwich Symphony Concertmaster Krystof Witek and renowned pianist Djordje Nesic.

The festival takes place today, Thursday, June 14 at 7 p.m. at the Greenwich Arts Council, 299 Greenwich Avenue. The admission is free but there is limited seating. No reservations taken. A reception with the artists will immediately follow the concert. For more information call the GAC office at 203-862-6750, or visit Greenwichmusicfestival.org.
