Metropolitan Planning Meeting Slated for Thursday morning

On Thursday, Jan. 23, the South Western Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (SWRMPO) will conduct its monthly meeting.

Key agenda topics will include legislative priorities, and the status of the merger of the Western Region. Other items of discussion are transportation and non-transportation policy, programs and projects that concern the South Western Region.

SWRMPO is comprised of the chief elected officials of the South Western Region’s eight towns of Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton, and the directors of the Region’s transit districts. The organization is responsible for transportation policy development, planning, and programming of federal transportation funding for the region.

The meeting will be held at 8:15 a.m. the South Western Regional Planning Agency offices located on the third Floor of the Stamford Government Center on 888 Washington Boulevard. The public is invited to participate.
