Fit and Fun Fest set for Feb. 1

On your mark, get set, go to the Junior League of Greenwich’s (JLG) second annual Fit and Fun Fest on Feb. 1 at the YWCA Greenwich from 1 to 4 p.m.

The fest is a wide-ranging health and wellness event, geared toward families with children ages five to 12, and offering interactive health and fitness activities and food demos. The free event will feature an impressive roster of health practitioners, restaurants, food chefs and fitness instructors and activities.

In addition, to support the Neighbor to Neighbor food bank, the JLG will run a food drive and has invited families to bring a non-perishable food items to the event. Samples, giveaways and door prizes will be available to the first 300 families.

The 2014 Fit and Fun Fest is an extension of the Junior League’s national nutrition program, “Kids in the Kitchen.” The JLG has chosen this health and wellness event as an effective venue to showcase the community’s wide range of health, nutrition and fitness programs and activities available to families in the area.

For additional information on the event, contact Amy Zeppelin, communications chair at the Junior League of Greenwich. If you are interested in joining the Junior League of Greenwich and making a difference in the community, contact the JLG office at 203-869-1979 or visit Jlgreenwich.org.
