Liberation Programs hosts first parent seminar at YMCA

Want to “open a window into your teen’s world”? Attend one of Liberation Programs’ six-part series of seminars designed to strengthen parent-child relationships.

The first meeting will take place today Jan. 23 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the YMCA of Greenwich, in its meeting room on the second floor.

This seminar, led by Liberation Programs’ Prevention Specialist Barry Halpin with Liberations’ Youth Options Counselor, Cerissa Orbegoso, MSW, is for parents who want to open better lines of communication with their teenagers. Topics to be discussed will include ways to listen and “hear” your teenager, gain insights into what teens are experiencing and how to help your child build resilience.

Liberation Programs’ Parent Seminar Series is offered in partnership with the YMCA of Greenwich, The Father’s Forum, The Lower Fairfield County Regional Action Council, Town of Greenwich Police Department, The Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich and Greenwich United Way.

The seminar is open to the public and free of charge. For more information, visit or call 203-604-1144. YMCA of Greenwich, 50 East Putnam Avenue.
