Sacred Heart basketball routs Westover, 53-24

The Convent of the Sacred Heart basketball team kept up its winning ways earlier today, taking a 38-15 halftime lead over Westover and never looked back, winning 53-24.

In a dominating first half, the Tigers were paced by Colleen O’Neill, who had seven assists in the half, and Bridget Scaturro, who finished with 11 points in the game.

Overall, Sacred Heart was led by Emily O’Sullivan, who finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds and two assists. Colleen O’Neill added three points, 10 total assists, six rebounds and three steals. In addition to her 11 points, Scaturro added four rebounds.

Claire O’Neill rounded out the scoring for Sacred Heart with nine points and two rebounds.

With the victory, Sacred Heart upped its overall record to 8-1 and a perfect 3-0 in the Fairchester Athletic Association. The Tigers will be back in action Friday when they play Hamden Hall Country Day School, who beat CSH back on Dec. 20 in the KIT Holiday Tournament.
