Pickwick Plaza earns a ‘star’

The Class-A office complex at Pickwick Plaza has gone green, earning itself an Energy Star rating from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is being listed on the prestigious Registry of Energy Star Certified Buildings.

To qualify for the coveted certification, which signifies the top energy efficient commercial buildings in the country, Pickwick Plaza, owned by Kensico Properties and managed by Hines, successfully met a series of strict EPA criteria.

“It is a wonderful achievement for Pickwick Plaza and an honor to be recognized in this way,” said Hines Senior Property Manager Glenn Haber. “We work diligently to maintain the highest environmental and aesthetic standards at Pickwick Plaza. This certification is an important acknowledgment for both ownership and management.”

Centrally located in the Greenwich Business District with its own branded address, the award-winning plaza comprises three separate buildings and an annex. A series of upgrades have been implemented at the complex in recent years, such as the renovation of the 846-space on-site, reserved parking garage, as well as several energy efficient building upgrades.

Among the programs currently underway are the revitalization of 9,000 square feet of retail space along Greenwich Avenue and the re-design of the interior plaza with new landscaping, water sculptures and dramatic main entrance.
