YWCA Greenwich recently held a Kickoff Party for its biggest fund-raiser of the year — the 2014 Persimmon Ball, themed “Tales of the South Pacific,” scheduled for April 11 at the Hyatt Regency. The kickoff event was held at the Pray Achievement Center in the Banksville section of town. Many members of the YWCA board, Leadership Council and Persimmon Ball Committee were in attendance, including the 2014 Persimmon Ball co-chairs.

“Proceeds from this, our largest fund-raiser, will enable the YWCA to provide a wide range of free services to victims of domestic violence; grant scholarships to children in our preschool, summer camp, after-school and aquatic programs; and offer the community free racial justice initiatives and women’s leadership seminars,” said YWCA president and CEO Adrianne Singer.
