Red Cross needs summer drivers

The American Red Cross is seeking volunteer motor services drivers for the summer season. Motor services drivers provide free transportation for Greenwich residents who have inadequate access to the essential health and human services they need such as the hospital, doctor and dentist offices, well-baby clinics, rehabilitation centers, physical therapy, and dialysis.

The service operates Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteer drivers, who usually serve one-half day a week, operate Red Cross cars equipped with two-way radios. Training includes radio operations and ride along time. To volunteer contact Andrew Sindell, manager of volunteer resources, at 203-869-8444, ext. 122, or by e-mail at [email protected]
