Panel Discussion on taxes set for Jan. 15

Find out where all of those precious tax dollars go on Jan. 15 at a panel discussion hosted by The League of Women Voters of Greenwich entitled, “Capital Project Financing 101.”

An expert panel will discuss how Greenwich town projects are proposed, prioritized and funded.

Attendees will learn how their tax dollars are allocated to “big ticket items,” including recent and current projects such as MISA, Nathaniel Witherell, the Central Fire Station and other intricacies of the capital planning process.

The panel will feature Jim Lash, a former first selectman, as well as a former chairman of the town’s Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET), Michael Mason current chairman of the BET, Mary Lee Kiernan, a member of the BET and Peter Mynarski, comptroller of the town of Greenwich.

The program will be held at Town Hall in the Cone Room on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
