Becker Salon holds cancer benefit Sunday

Becker Salon, located at 268 Mason Street, will provide complimentary haircuts on Sunday, June 10, to benefit women undergoing cancer treatment.

The event will support Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a partnership between Pantene and the American Cancer Society that assembles real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. Becker Salon is teaming up with Splurge Unique Gifts, Home Décor and Jewelry for this event. Men, women and children, accompanied by a parent, are invited to join Sonia Sotire Malloy, owner of Splurge, to donate their locks to the cause.

“I am thrilled to work with Becker, who shares the Splurge philosophy of doing good while doing business. I have been growing my hair out for over three years in anticipation of this day and I am very excited that I am ready to donate. I hope that the community will join me in honor of women who are fighting a battle with cancer,” said Ms. Malloy.

Becker Salon be open will open their doors to donors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 10. Requirements for hair donations include a minimum hair length of eight inches, no permanent color or chemically treated hair, hair that is no more than 5 percent gray and clean hair, without styling products upon arrival at the salon. Curly or wavy hair is acceptable and may be straightened to measure length.

Appointments are requested. Please call Becker Salon at 203-340-9550.

Refreshments will be served and all donors will receive a free gift from Splurge after completing their donation.
