Although the Greenwich High School girls ice hockey team held a lead heading into the final period, they were unable to net their first victory of the season. The combined team from North Haven, Amity Regional and Cheshire high schools scored four goals in the final frame and came away with the 8-6 victory over Big Red yesterday evening at the Dorothy Hamill Rink.

Sara Schectman led the way for the Lady Cardinals, finishing with two goals and two assists. Erin Ferguson, who also netted two assists on the day, finished with one goal. Lizzie Russell and Caitlin Brady each added one goal.

North Haven was paced by the duo of Meaghan Francis and Cathy Babbidge, who each picked up hat tricks.

In net, Greenwich’s Lisa Lewis finished with 13 saves, while North Haven’s Sarah Wiederecht added 10.

With the loss, Greenwich fell to 0-3 on the season.
