YMCA lines up winter programming

Cold weather won’t mean a lack of programming at the YWCA of Greenwich this winter, as the organization recently announced a number of exercise classes, aquatic sports and social and health living programs for the season. Registration ends soon, as programs run from Jan. 4 through March 28, 2014.

In addition to the YMCA’s typical high energy winter programming, the facility is also offering six new courses geared toward promoting a healthier, more active lifestyle. The new programs include karate, youth tennis, T-ball, floor hockey, a youth triathlon program and girl’s lacrosse.

Ed Philipp, CEO of the YMCA, stated, “2014 is going to be great. It’s a new YMCA — our building is complete. It’s a new year. Now is the time for a new you. Start you comeback today to healthier living.”

In addition to the new programming, the YMCA is offering more than 60 youth development, healthy living and social responsibility programs, including Red Cross courses. The winter aquatics program will also be in full swing, including swim school in the newly renovated warm water pool, Marlins swim team, Marlins diving club, Greenwich aquatics water polo, master’s level programs and adult aquatics.

To register for any of the YMCA’s winter programming, stop by the YMCA or visit gwymca.org. The YMCA can also be reached at 203-869-1630.
