Greenwich Academy swimming & diving victorious against Kent, 118-67

Another day, another victory for the Greenwich Academy swim team. Earlier today at the Greenwich YMCA, the Gators upended Kent School, 118-67.

Leading the way was the trio of Quinn Scanell, Hannah Subramaniam and Borden Wahl, as they all picked up two individual gold medals. Wahl and Subramaniam were also winners in two relay events, while Scanell finished with a victory in one.

In the 50-yard freestyle event, Scanell took home the gold with a time of 2483 seconds. She kept the good times rolling in the 100-yard backstroke, as she touched the wall with a time of 1:16.34. Not to be outdone was Wahl, who finished tops in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.42 and again in the 100-yard freestyle, netting a time of 58.78.

Also winning two individual events was Subramaniam, as she took first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:28.00 and again in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:06.87.

All three athletes, along with Kitty Arenz, were competing in the first event of the day, the 200-yard medley relay and took top honors with a time of 2:00.87. Wahl, along with Hannah Goodrick, Subramaniam and Arenz finished first in the 200-yard freestyle relay and took home a time of 1:48.51.

In addition to her double gold in relay events, Arenz finished first in the 200-yard freestyle event, touching the wall with a time of 2:00.89.

When it came to diving, no one was better than Lizzie Fitzpatrick, who picked up the top prize and 248.45 points.
