Dogs allowed at Greenwich Point for winter

glgl-spring-dog-2-23It’s time to let your four-legged friends come back to Greenwich Point, but police have several reminders about rules and regulations in order to enjoy the privilege.

All dogs must remain on a leash in the hands of an adult throughout the park. No owners may permit their pets to run loose or roam at large at any time in the park, thereby allowing them to injure, chase or otherwise disturb any people or wildlife.

Additionally, all dogs must have a valid dog license attached to their collar or harness.

Finally, all dogs must be under control below the mean high water mark and must not cause a disturbance to any other person or animal.

Police are also reminding the public that animals are not allowed on any beach from April 1 to Nov. 30, 2014.

Greenwich Point will be patrolled and violators of any of these conditions will be subject to $75 to $140 fines.

Any resident with problems or concerns with these regulations is asked to call the Greenwich Police Department Animal Control Division at 203-622-8299.
