Sean Jackson and the Stanwich Choir will perform this weekend.

Stanwich Church’s “The Glory of Christmas” holiday concert was cancelled as a result of the snowstorm on Dec. 14, but the concert has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 21 at 4 p.m.

The concert will celebrate the music of Christmas featuring works by Bach, Handel, Rutter, Wilcocks and a selection of seasonal favorites led by Sean Jackson, organist and director of music, and accompanied by a 20-piece orchestra.

Performers include the Stanwich choir with soloists Amy Clapp Dye and Denise LeVan, sopranos; Dell Kendall, mezzo-soprano; Brian Joy, tenor and Wiley Maddox, bass. Also participating will be guest artists mezzo-soprano Wendy Gerbier and violinist Anna Leinbach.

Dr. Jackson, a native of Barbados and one of that country’s most distinguished émigré classical musicians, has performed internationally both as a soloist and accompanist in the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Germany, Taiwan, China, Canada, the United States and the Caribbean. He has several recent recordings to his credit and has a growing series of performances on the web.

Stanwich Church is located at 202 Taconic Road. Freewill offering. Reception follows.
