Brunswick boys head to Nashville for Checkmate tournament

Brunswick School kindergarten and lower school chess team won 10th place in the country at the 2012 National Elementary (K-6) Championship in Nashville, Tenn. The tournament, in which young chess players from around the country participate, took place over three days in May and included 2,223 players in 10 sections with 40 states represented.

 

Brunswick students on the mini-tournament circuit include William Ewald, Thomas Ewald, Glen Cahilly, Ryan Miele, Luke Homan, Philip Camuto, Max Konzerowsky, Ashton Winegardner, Leyton Borcherding, William Baxter, Lucas Korn and Braxton Reynolds.
