With snow in the forecast, Greenwich schools are closed

Snow is expected to start this morning and several inches are forecast for Tuesday. In anticipation of that, Greenwich Public Schools are closed for Tuesday and all after school activities have been cancelled.

All evening activities in the Greenwich Public Schools, including parent conferences, have been cancelled as well. Additionally, Brunswick School, Greenwich Academy and Convent of the Sacred Heart have cancelled school today as well in anticipation of the bad weather, which is supposed to hit in the morning and last into the afternoon, potentially creating headaches for commuters.

According to the National Weather Service, a period of steady snow is expected to begin between 9 a.m. and noon for the Greenwich area. Snow will last into the afternoon with two to four inches forecast. The snow is expected to end by evening, though it could create a messy ride home for commuters.
