New Autism diagnosis discussed Monday

People looking for more information about autism are invited to a presentation that is set for Monday, Dec. 2,  in Stamford that is being sponsored by the Greenwich-based Friends of Autistic People (FAP).

Michael Powers, from the Center for Children with Special Needs in Glastonbury will be the featured speaker for the evening. Dr. Powers is set to discuss “the new Autism diagnosis” and what it means. There have been recent changes to how Autism is diagnosed and the organization said this would be the perfect opportunity for parents with autistic children to find out how it affects them and their children.

The seminar is free and there will be refreshments offered. It is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Easter Seals Coastal Fairfield headquarters at 733 Summer Street in Stamford.
