Painting sale raises questions

Looking at the news, I couldn’t help but see that a Francis Bacon painting sold for $142 million at Christie’s auction house the other day.

What must it be like for poor people to know that a few blocks away from where they are barely hanging on to afford the necessities, someone paid 142 million dollars for a painting and the audience cheered?
