Cos Cob Fire Police team with Fairway to help Abilis on Nov. 20

The town’s long-standing commitment to community outreach will be highlighted once again on Nov. 20 when the Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol, Inc. and Fairway Market will hold a cooperative fund-raising event to benefit Abilis of Greenwich from 4 to 9 p.m. at the grocery store in Stamford.

During the event’s designated hours, 25% of all purchases made by registered shoppers will be donated on behalf of the patrol and Fairway Market. Members of the patrol will be at the store to greet shoppers and register them to participate in the event.

Fairway Market provided this donation opportunity following the patrol’s first place finish, this past June, in the Fairway Firefighters Food Face-Off. This is the second year the group has won the award. The patrol selected Abilis to be the recipient of the combined efforts, due to their strong commitment to serving those in need in Greenwich — a commitment that the patrol said it proudly shares.

“Community partnerships are a fundamental aspect of the patrol’s existence and we are fortunate to be so involved with the community and to be able to help others in our town.” said Brian M. Kelly, chief of the patrol.

Lolli Ross, executive director of Abilis, added, “Abilis is honored to have been selected as a recipient of this generous donation from Fairway Market and the Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol. The funds received will help Abilis create lives of joy, respect and meaning for the most vulnerable members of society.”
