Atelier360 to hold ‘ethical’ shopping event

Shop for all the right reasons on Nov. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. when Atelier360 in Greenwich, will play host to a special ethical shopping event and cocktail reception featuring Same Sky jewelry.

Same Sky began in 2009 as a trade-not-aid initiative that employs African women living with HIV/AIDS as artisans, teaching them to make beautiful hand-crocheted necklaces and bracelets and providing a platform to sell in the global marketplace.

During the trunk show, Same Sky will present their latest jewelry collections including their signature hand-blown glass beaded bracelets and necklaces, ranging from $160-$400; Prosperity seed bead bracelets, ranging from $60-$95; Hope necklaces priced at $395; Fabric Wrap bracelets, ranging from $30-$40; Faith earrings  priced at $50 and Faith cufflinks priced at $100, which are all hand-crocheted by artisans in Africa.

Same Sky will also debut the company’s first American collection — Benefit bracelets priced at $50. Same Sky America’s vision is to give women in the country second chances as they work to restore their confidence and rebuild their lives. Same Sky America’s pilot project is in Jersey City working with women who have recently been released from jail providing them with training and employment to hand-bead the Benefit Collection.
