Santa Claus is coming to Splurge

The jolly man in the bright red suit will take time out of his busy schedule to visit downtown Greenwich and he’s scheduled to arrive Thursday afternoon.

Tomorrow, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m., Santa Claus and his helper elf will stroll down Greenwich Avenue to delight children and invite families to his upcoming special appearance at Splurge. Then on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 1 to 4 p.m., Splurge will host photos with Santa during its Holiday Open House event.

For a $10 donation to Kids in Crisis, professional photographer Bob Capazzo will take a keepsake 4×6 photograph of families, children and/or pets with Santa.

Splurge owner Sonia Sotire Malloy said, “I am honored to partner with Kids in Crisis to support their mission during the holidays and year round. I am excited to host Santa Claus for the very first time at Splurge and know that each smile with Santa will bring many smiles to kids in need of assistance.”

Over the past six years Splurge and Kids and Crisis have partnered together to establish unique programs that offer Splurge customers with varied opportunities to give back. This past spring, Splurge held its sixth consecutive Easter basket collection for Kids in Crisis which, thanks to the generosity of the community, has brought in more than 500 filled Easter baskets to-date for children in the program.

Each holiday season Splurge participates in selling boxed chocolates where 100% of proceeds benefit Kids in Crisis and last year customers had the opportunity to contribute to a child’s birthday celebration at Kids in Crisis through the Splurge birthday party box.

Kids in Crisis Executive Director Shari Shapiro said, “Splurge has been a tremendous supporter of Kids in Crisis for so many years. Whether it is giving our children Easter Baskets, or providing donations to support our emergency shelter, Splurge has demonstrated incredible generosity to children who so desperately need kindness and caring.”

Splurge is located at 39 Lewis Street and it is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
