Campaign signs litter our streets

To the Editor

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorThey think we can’t process that bit of information quickly so they often post many of the same signs within a few feet of each other. They think we know who they are as almost no information except their name is given. Of course, if they added more information and we slowed down to read them we’d cause an accident.

They think that seeing their names over and over again will convince us to vote for them rather than the other litterer who posted fewer signs. They think we don’t care how ugly they make the roads. They think we are dumber than we are.

By the way, posting signs on the public right-of-way without  permission from the tree warden is illegal (see Connecticut State Statutes 23-59 and 23-65).
