Leadership has a new face in the Chamber Players of the Greenwich Symphony with the election of Christine Boies as the new president of the organization.

James Daniel, president for the past 14 years, stepped down from the top position in late June.

He remains on the Board of Directors, and will contribute his considerable experience and knowledge to the work of the Chamber Players, which has prospered under his leadership.

Ms. Boies has been very active in the local musical community for many years, having generously and conscientiously given her time and talents on the boards of the Greenwich Symphony, the Symphony Guild and the Chamber Players.

She is a member of the choir of the Round Hill Community Church, and in her spare time she is continuing her piano studies as a student of Andrew Gordon.

Ms. Boies considers the Chamber Players concert series a musical gem in the community.

“Our concerts are presented in intimate settings,” Ms. Boies said. “The repertoire is varied and exciting, spanning five centuries of classical music, and our musicians are highly accomplished professionals who give their very best. Our loyal audience loves the musical offerings and the informal wine and cheese receptions which are included in the ticket price. It is a winning combination and we always welcome new music enthusiasts of all ages.”

Newly elected to the board of the Chamber Players are Andrew Gordon and Stephen Boies.

Mr. Gordon is principal keyboard musician of the Greenwich Symphony, Chamber Players pianist and director of music, at Diamond Hill Methodist Church.

Ms. Boies is a former president of the Perrot Library Board, and currently serves on the board of the Greenwich Symphony and as Treasurer of the Retired Men’s Association.
