Event to explore father/daughter relationships

Find out how your behavior impacts your daughter’s self-esteem on Nov. 2 at a Fathers’ Forum event Like Father, Like Daughter from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the YMCA of Greenwich.

Studies have shown that a father’s relationship with his daughter will significantly impact the adult she will become. Strengthening bonds with daughters is the first critical step in giving young women the foundation they need to live a happy and meaningful life.

The Fairfield County Peer Players, directed by Barry Halpin, will perform two skits highlighting some of the themes event speakers will discuss, including the significance of the relationship between fathers and daughters; how girls, at all ages, are shaped and influenced by the role model their father provides; the power of reflection — how learning from one’s daughters can enrich the ability to parent; self-reflection as a critical parenting tool and the specific ways in which fathers can deepen their daughters’ developing sense of self.

Coffee starts 8 a.m., followed by the panel discussion from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. For more information, visit Fathersforumgreenwich.com.
