Registration underway for Back Country Bushwhack race on Nov. 10

The 29th annual Back Country Bushwhack cross-country races will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 10 at Camp Simmons.

The event, which is 11th of this year’s 12 events in the Betteridge Greenwich Cup 2013 series, includes a four-mile cross country run for adults and Max’s Mile for youngsters.

It is a challenging event with some unique fun among as runners will run through trails, slog through streams and climb over logs on the majestic 77-acre Camp Simmons property on 744 Lake Avenue.

The entry fees are $20 for adults and $10 for kids running in Max’s Mile. Runners will also receive long-sleeved T-shirts and refreshments, including hot chili, which will be provided by Méli-Mélo, the Greenwich restaurant which has donated refreshments throughout the series.
