18th annual Luncheon & Fashion Show set

Pink Ribbon stockThe Breast Cancer Alliance invites the community to “Kick Up Your Heels and Step Out For Pink” on Nov. 7 at the organization’s 18th Annual Luncheon & Fashion Show, to be held at the Hyatt Regency in Old Greenwich.

The Greenwich-based Breast Cancer Alliance, founded in 1996 by breast cancer survivors and their friends, is one of the largest private non-corporate breast cancer organizations in the U.S. Its mission is to improve survival rates and quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer through better prevention, early detection, treatment and cure.

Its funding is exclusive in supporting innovative breast cancer research, breast surgical fellowships and promoting breast health through education and outreach programs, including free screening mammography programs for underserved and uninsured women.

The annual luncheon will include a silent auction, speech by NBC4 anchor and breast cancer survivor Pat Battle, a Mitchells/Richards Fashion Show led by “an inspiring group of breast cancer survivors” and a post-event Manolo Blahnik trunk show and tea.

Manolo Blahnik has created two shoes for the Breast Cancer Alliance complete with a dedication to the BCA on the sole, to be sold exclusively at Richards in Greenwich. Twenty percent of proceeds from sales will benefit the alliance. For more details visit breastcanceralliance.org.

The ticket price ranges from $350 to $1,000. Tables range from $5,000 to $50,000.
