Tesei’s vision is right for Greenwich

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

As first selectman, Peter Tesei has demonstrated his vision for the town.

Foremost in Peter’s plan for Greenwich is to control property taxes and to continue a prudent fiscal and operating management policy. He believes in moderate and predictable property tax increases, the town’s modified pay-as-you-go system and maintaining the town’s triple A debt rating.

Peter will retain the town’s premier residential character as a community with distinct neighborhoods. Over the past six years he has directed investment in life safety, public schools and critical infrastructure and will continue capital spending in this manner. Peter is also implementing programs to improve the delivery of technology, and to upgrade customer service to the town’s residents and businesses.

While Peter is an experienced government and business leader and a community volunteer, he is also the husband of a professional, working wife, the father of two young children in the town’s public school system and the son of parents who live in town. He understands the multigenerational needs of the town’s residents.

As first selectman, Peter has managed the town in a collegial manner, prioritized issues, and listened to town employees and town residents.  Peter knows the importance of the town’s flat organizational structure and respects the need for cooperation between the Board of Selectmen, the Board of Estimate and Taxation, the Representative Town Meeting, and the town’s boards and commissions.

Peter can be counted on for experience that puts Greenwich first. We will vote to re-elect Peter Tesei as first selectman on Nov. 5.
