Screening of ‘Stolen Kisses’ set for Oct. 30

movie reel stockSteal away for the night on Oct. 30 when the Avon Theatre and the Alliance Francaise of Greenwich present a French Cinematheque screening of Francois Truffaut’s Stolen Kisses.

Actor Jean-Pierre Léaud returns in Stolen Kisses, the third installment in the Antoine Doinel series. It is now 1968, and the mischievous and perpetually love-struck Doinel has been dishonorably discharged from the army and released onto the streets of Paris, where he stumbles into the unlikely profession of private detective and embarks on a series of misadventures.

Whimsical, nostalgic and irrepressibly romantic, Stolen Kisses has been called Truffaut’s timeless ode to the passion and impetuosity of youth.

The 91-minute film is not rated and will be viewed in French with English subtitles.

The viewing begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for Carte Blanche members are free, for theater and alliance members are $6, for students and seniors are $8 and for nonmembers are $11. Call the Avon box office at 203-967-3660, ext. 2, for tickets.
