Residents can have confidence in Novakowski

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

As a lifelong Greenwich resident, I care about what goes on with our local politics. While I am a registered Republican, I am nonetheless proudly voting for Rick Novakowski as tax collector on Nov. 5.

I grew up going to Manero’s with my family regularly, where Rick was the general manager and face of the business. If you ever went to Manero’s during the decade and a half when he was there, you could not help but notice how friendly and personable Rick was. But he was more than that. The restaurant, which was a very large operation, always seemed to run like a well-oiled machine with Rick at the helm.

When I met my husband, who himself used to work at Manero’s and is very close to Rick, I got to know Rick more personally. I have witnessed firsthand how hard-working and dedicated he is to his wife and four children, his employment, and to making the town in which we live the best it can be.

I have no doubt that his approach as tax collector will be based exclusively on accountability to, and what is best for, the people of Greenwich.

Rick is intelligent, hard-working and he has an unparalleled love of his town and his community. From recent experience it is clear that our next tax collector needs to give residents confidence that he works for us, he will listen to us, and that he is there for us.

Rick is far and away the best person for the job, and I look forward to casting my vote accordingly.
