Greenwich High water polo wins host tourney with win over Naval Academy

The Greenwich High School water polo dominated its host event, the Cardinal Tournament, and won the title for the 13th consecutive season, beating the Naval Academy Aquatics Club 10-4 in the championship game.

Seniors Nick Hyden and Tyler Triscari each scored three goals to lead the way for the Cardinals, who grabbed the 5-4 advantage at halftime.

Jack Kerwin, Ben Wurst, Ed Moss and Julian Fraser each scored one goal to round out the scoring. Big Red started the event by beating St. Benedict’s Prep, 14-4 and upended Gonzaga College High School  in the semifinals, 11-2.

With the three more victories on the day, Greenwich High upped its overall record to 24-0 on the season.
