Come to St. Catherine for wine, tapas

WineSt. Catherine of Siena’s concert series will feature Chanticleer, the multi-Grammy Award-winning ensemble on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 8 p.m.

The concert will take place at the church at 4 Riverside Avenue and event organizers say that Chanticleer is “a cappella at its best,” calling it a “seamless blend of male voices ranging from counter-tenor to contra-bass, a chance to rejoice in the magic and majesty of the human voice.”

The first vocal ensemble ever inducted into the American Classical Music Hall of Fame, Chanticleer’s selections are designed to take audiences on a vocal journey from Renaissance to jazz to gospel and beyond.

Preceding the concert, there will be a light tapas dinner with a variety of red and white wines from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the James and Catherine Lucey Parish Hall at St. Catherine of Siena. The tapas will be prepared and served by Bistro Latino, a Rafael Palomino restaurant located in Old Greenwich.

Tickets for ‘Wine and Tapas’ are being sold through Friday, Oct. 18, so make your purchase as soon as possible.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. concert are priced at $50 and $35 while the pre-concert ‘Wine and Tapas’ dinner at 6 p.m. is a separate charge of $50 per person.
