Tamm is a person of smarts and empathy

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

I’m writing to express my support of Samarpana Tamm, a candidate for the Greenwich Board of Education.

I’ve worked with Sam for over five years as her boss at a neighboring public library. We’ve worked on special events, early education classes, and many outreach initiatives together.

As a former Montessori teacher, Sam brings her deep passion for learning, her knowledge of children’s developmental needs, and her warmth to the classes she teaches. When a parent has an issue or needs advice, Sam is one of the first people to whom I turn.

“Miss Sam,” as she is known by many kids and parents, is by far one of the smartest, most empathic, and hard-working people I’ve ever known.

Sam is devoted to her community and she is a true advocate for education. Sam has the unique ability to look at an issue from all sides — seeing the parent perspective, the child’s unique view, as well as the viewpoint of teachers and administrators.

She will make an exceptional member of the Board of Education.
