Greenwich Academy field hockey shuts out Taft School, 5-0

The Greenwich Academy field hockey team kept the good times rolling earlier today, traveling up to Taft School and coming away with the 5-0 victory.

Despite the pressure from Taft early in the contest, the Gators were able to apply their own pressure in the midfield and attack the goal looking for rebounds. Hannah Goodrick got the ball rolling for GA, netting the team’s first goal. Shortly after, Katrina Kraus was there to get the second goal of the game.

In the second half, Greenwich Academy netted three goals, as Tati Viola scored twice in the half and  Sarah Frauen added another goal. Teddi West finished the game with three assists for GA.

As a team, GA finished with 27 shots on net. Greenwich Academy goalie Julia Booth grabbed five saves in the winning effort. Her counterpart, Karina Wohlheiter, made 22 saves for Taft.
