Tree walk set for Oct. 6

As the leaves begin to change, there’s no better time to learn about local trees than at a Tree Walk and Lecture on Oct. 6 at the Seaside Center, hosted by the Greenwich Tree Conservancy and the Bruce Museum.

Join Bruce Spaman, the town’s superintendent of parks and trees and tree warden, at 1:45 p.m. at the main concession stand for a one-hour walk to learn about the trees around Greenwich Point.

At 3 p.m. in the Innis Arden Cottage, hear Eric Hammerling, executive director at Connecticut Forest & Park Association, talk about the Connecticut blue trail system and the legacy of Helen Binney Kitchel, Greenwich conservationist, state legislator and philanthropist.
