Appelbaum has qualities for bipartisan appeal

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

I am writing in support of Debbie Appelbaum’s candidacy for the Board of Education.

As a member of the Junior League, I have had many opportunities to work with Debbie and experience her insightful intelligence, compassion, knowledge of town government as well as her graceful but very effective leadership. Her love of Greenwich has led her to spend years actively involved in all aspects of our community.

Having been a parent in the Greenwich education system, Debbie is aware of the issues facing families who seek the best education in a safe environment for their children. Her natural sense of fair play, evenhandedness and calm make her particularly well suited for the Board of Education.

I have never missed an election, and, as a stalwart Republican, have only voted for a only Democrat once before. But when a candidate with such exceptional qualities rises to such an important position, I am honored to vote for that person.
