Model Train Show Sept. 29

Step aside Metro-North, the Southern Connecticut Model Train Show will be held on Sunday, Sept. 29, at the Greenwich Civic Center in Old Greenwich.

The event is a great place for railroad fans to expand their hobby interest and a wonderful family experience to introduce children to a creative hobby, organizers said. The show will feature two very large HO train layouts and there will be more than 100 tables of model trains, locomotives, rolling stock, track, artwork, scenery supplies, T-shirts, books, DVDs and more for sale. Additionally, clinics will be offered to teach the modelers how to assemble model train kits, scenery clinics and a workshop on how to make trees for a layout. Door prizes will be given out throughout the day as well as a grand door prize of an HO train set at the end of the afternoon.

The show hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for seniors. Children 12-years-old and under are free when accompanied by an adult. For more information call 914-967-7541 or email [email protected]
