Bernstein knows how to do right thing for schools

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

I am writing to support Peter Bernstein as a candidate for the Greenwich Board of Education.

In the time I have known him as a fellow parent in the Greenwich schools and worked with him in the PTA, Peter has shown himself to be a man of integrity who rises above petty politics to work for real solutions.

His history of service speaks for itself. Peter is a regular at board meetings and often speaks eloquently during public comments. He has been a force for building consensus, but is willing to challenge the board when it needs to be challenged. Peter is not afraid to ask the tough questions, but only when they are the right questions.

He has a strong understanding of the needs in neighborhood and magnet schools and will bring this perspective with him. I am confident he will ably and fairly represent the entire town.

Peter’s background makes him exceptionally qualified for the job. Through his skills as a lawyer, his record as a school leader and his compassion as a parent, he not only knows the right thing to do, but how to make it happen.

Those familiar with me from my own involvement in Greenwich education know that I want nothing but the best for our schools and our students. To that end, I will be voting for Peter Bernstein for the Board of Education. I hope that you’ll join me.
