Board of Education members need to collaborate

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

In response to a letter to the editor I authored along with my fellow endorsed candidate Brian Peldunas calling for cooperation among members of the Board of Education, Peter von Braun felt that he was attacked.

I am sorry he feels that way and assure him it was not meant as a personal attack.

The purpose of the letter was to demonstrate the positive change and collaboration that we hope to bring to the board.

While I was not able to attend the Spanish language forum at Hamilton Avenue, I was a consistent voice calling for more outreach to that community as part of this process and was at the majority of the other public forums. I also bring to the table two years of service to that community as a school leader and have been communicating with the members of that community on this topic since it first came to light.

My concern goes much deeper than seeking election to the Board of Education.

I look forward to serving with Mr. von Braun and working with the Board on the issues.
