World travelers to share experiences at singles event

Looking for a fun, active way to meet local singles? Join Singles Under Sail (SUS), a sailing club for young active singles.

The SUS will be gathering for their next social meeting on Sept. 19, promising an exciting program of Egyptian adventures presented by adventurous travelers Lara Kosbar and Sequoia Sun.

The pair will recount their travel, using video and photos of their April 2012 trip, traveling Egypt by camel and sailing the Nile on a felucca — the sailing vessel of ancient times. The presentation will explore the many ancient and historically important sites of Egypt as well as descriptions of the duo’s adventures on the Nile, where they often anchored at remote desert sites.

Club organizers say that people interested in joining a group that has fun both “on the land” and “on the water,” will find SUS is the group for them. But this upcoming meeting also affords non-SUS members the opportunity to meet SUS members who are sailors and skippers.

Can’t sail? Learn how with SUS educational programs, together with other publicly available instructions, and you will come to feel as if you “have been sailing all your life.”

The event starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency, 1800 Putnam Avenue. Admission is $10 for the public and $5 for SUS members. Those who bring a copy of this announcement will be entitled to the SUS member admission fee of only $5.
