Sign-ups open for senior center computer courses

computerSchool isn’t just for youngsters this fall, when the Greenwich Senior Center will offer a number of computer classes for people of all ages and skill levels.

Classes being offered include Basics for computer beginners; Introduction to Apple computers; Introduction to computers using Microsoft Windows 7 and the new Windows 8 operating system; Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheet and Email and Internet.

Other courses offered include the photography classes Photo Organizing and Editing with Picasa and Adobe and Taking great Pictures; classes for computer tablets and smartphones (Google Motorola Droid and Samsung Galaxy) and Apple iPhone and social networking classes that focus on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, as well as Skype and YouTube.

Classes are held at the Greenwich Senior Center at 299 Greenwich Avenue. All ages are welcome. The class is not just for seniors.

Temporary parking permits are available. Classes start at 9 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Experienced instructors will present the fundamentals of the computer operating system, how to organize files and folders, documents, spreadsheets, pictures, emails, Internet and emails. There is a nominal fee.
