Whole Foods to host kids program

Greenwich is preparing to team up with the Putnam Indian Field School for an educational gardening event that gets the whole family involved.Whole Foods Market’s seven stores in southern Connecticut are inviting families to participate in a variety of fun events right in their backyards. At the end of each volunteer effort, families can enjoy a free salad lunch and learn about the healthy eating resources courtesy of Whole Foods Market’s Whole Kids Foundation.

The Greenwich store will partner with the Putnam Indian Field School and the Greenwich Garden Education Center as families roll up their sleeves and help lay down the foundation for the school garden, which will also be an outdoor classroom for the preschoolers to enjoy learning and harvesting throughout the year. The gardening event will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Putnam Indian Field School, 101 Indian Field Road.
