Members of Disco Inferno are ready to get funky Wednesday night at their concert at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park.

Take a trip back in time on Aug. 21 when the Department of Parks and Recreation will be presenting the 70’s dance band, Disco Inferno, at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park.

Disco Inferno is the northeast’s most authentic flashback to the 70’s dance band, the department said. The nine-piece group combines great dance music from the disco/funk era with a fun interactive stage show that appeals to people of all ages. The band will provide a memorable experience, performing hits by Donna Summer, K.C. & the Sunshine Band, The Pointer Sisters, The Village People, Earth Wind & Fire, Gloria Gaynor and many more.

Disco Inferno was founded in 2001 and is currently based in the northeast. Over the years the group has developed a very respectable performance resume as well as favorable attention from the press. The band has been hired for a variety of private and public functions, including casino showrooms, theaters, private parties, fairs/festivals, town and municipal events and fund-raisers, and includes among its clients Saratoga Raceway, Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, NY State Fair, ESPN, Caesars, The Company Theatre, The Rainbow Room at NBC and many others.

The group has also shared the stage with the Temptations, The Four Tops, Gloria Gaynor, The Pointer Sisters, Sha Na Na, Herman’s Hermit’s and K.C & the Sunshine Band.

This concert will offer Greenwich residents the chance to prove once and for all that disco will never die and all are invited to attend. They can come out and  dance the night away on Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. The rain date is Thursday, Aug. 22.

For more information visit greenwichct.org.

For rain postponement information call 203-861-6100 after 4 p.m. on the day of the concert.
