The annual carnival returns this year with popular rides and games that have delighted the community.

St. Catherine of Siena Church’s Annual Carnival of Fun is back and better than ever this year to celebrate the church’s centennial.

The event, taking place Tuesday, Aug. 13, to Saturday, Aug. 17, will feature carnival rides for all ages and bracelet nights Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday — all the rides you can enjoy for one price.

The carnival also includes free nightly musical entertainment and games of skill and chance. There will be plenty of food to satisfy all appetites, including the always popular “pizza fritta,” of course as well as grilled sausage and peppers, grilled chicken breasts, hamburgers, hot dogs, specialty items from Aux Delices nightly, bakery treats from DiMare, ice cream, cotton candy and beverages. And to top it all off, a major raffle will be held, including a 2014 white BMW XI grand prize.

Carnival hours are set 6 to 10 p.m. Shuttle bus service will be available from Eastern Middle School on Hendrie Avenue in Riverside.
