Murphy Brothers Contracting was presented with a 1st Annual Rockaway Award for exemplary relief effort at the recent Habitat for Humanity of Westchester’s “American Dream Luncheon.”

The annual celebration, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains, N.Y., honors all of Habitat’s partners who have helped make the American dream possible for families throughout Westchester County.

“We are so grateful for Murphy Brothers’ commitment in helping Habitat of Westchester in the Rockaways and at home,” said Habitat for Humanity’s Jim Killoran, a  Greenwich resident. “Their help was immeasurable in helping us rebuild in Sandy.”

Chris Murphy accepted the award on behalf of the company, their employees and many friends who aided in the volunteer efforts.

Rebuilding the storm-ravaged areas is an ongoing effort. Those who would like to donate their time to volunteer or help financially are encouraged to contact Habitat for Humanity via their e-mail at [email protected] or their website at habitatwc.org.
