Greenwich teenager killed in Saturday morning car accident

Police are continuing to investigate a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred early Saturday on Riversville Road.

The driver’s name has not been released pending notification of his family, but police have identified him as a 19-year-old Greenwich man. Police say the man’s vehicle left the road and struck a stone wall along Riversville Road. According to the preliminary investigation the accident took place a little after 1 a.m. when the driver was traveling southbound. It is unclear as of now why the vehicle swerved off the road.

The Greenwich Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Team is attempting to determine what happened. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call Officer Roger Drenth at 203-622-8014.
